Obituary

Robert Graham Carlton, 76, passed away on Saturday, November 16, 2013, in his home.

Born in Petersburg, VA, he was the son of the late Rev. Graham S. Carlton and Leone Hines Carlton. He retired from Norfolk Naval Shipyard in 1995 as an Industrial Facilities Manager after 35 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran, a member of Great Bridge United Methodist Church and was active in their music program.

Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 23 years, Helen Culbreth Carlton; two daughters, Kiersten Carlton of Williamsburg, VA and Elizabeth Von Hoene and husband Eric of Columbus, IN; a stepson, Randi Julian; and four grandchildren, Alex, Christopher, Sarah and Sebastian. He was preceded in death by his first wife, DeAnne Hogge Carlton.

The family will receive friends at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Bridge Chapel on Monday, Nov. 18, 2013, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A graveside service will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2013, in Chesapeake Memorial Gardens with a memorial service to follow at 11:30 a.m. in Great Bridge United Methodist Church, 201 Stadium Dr., Chesapeake, VA 23322 with the Rev. Timothy P. Craig and Rev. Janet Allen officiating. A reception will follow services at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Great Bridge U.M.C. or Elizabeth River Methodist Men's Chorus c/o Community U.M.C., 1072 Old Kempsville Rd., Virginia Beach, VA 23462. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.hollomon-brown.com.
