Ray Coleson, of Chesapeake, VA, passed away on Wednesday, December 22, 2009. He was 66 years old and was the first of the four children of Sarah Cornelia Martin and Edward S. Martin Sr. of Norfolk, Virginia.
Mr. Coleson attended Princess Anne High School and Norview High School and was a charter member of St. John's United Methodist Church. He was a veteran having served his country in the United States Air Force. Mr. Coleson was a Master Electrician and a devoted employee of Service Electric Corporation of Virginia, where he continued to contribute and be related to his fellow workers following his retirement.
Mr. Coleson is survived by his loving companion of 26 years, Ms. Dee Smith; son, James Coleson (Karen) and daughter, Cassandra Waymire (Chris), both of Dothan, AL; son, Thomas Coleson (Rachel) of Norfolk, VA; son, Scott Bradley of Dudley, NC; seven grandchildren; sister, June Doyle; sister, Fran Dennis (David); and brother, Ed Martin (Margaret).
A Memorial Service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 28, 2009, at St. John's United Methodist Church, 2709 Greendale Ave., Norfolk, VA by Rev. Edward S. Martin Jr. Arrangements are being handled by Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to The American Heart Association.
