Obituary for Carl L. Fogelgren

Carl L. Fogelgren, 88, of Virginia Beach, VA, passed away August 13, 2018.

Born and raised in Newton, MA, he was the son of the late Albert and Alta Fogelgren. He obtained the rank of Eagle Scout while in high school. He was in the Naval Reserves stationed at Oceana and met his wife at London Bridge Baptist Church where they continued to be long time members. Carl was Princess Anne County’s first Electrical Inspector for many years. He went on to work at Smith & Keene before retiring as a City Electrical Inspector for Portsmouth.

During retirement they enjoyed many years traveling around the country. He loved taking care of his azaleas and working in his wood shop.

Left to cherish his memory: his loving wife of 66 years, Alta Jeannette Fogelgren; a son, Mark L. Fogelgren and his wife, Beth, of Virginia Beach, VA; and two grandchildren, Grace Fogelgren of Alexandria, VA and Michael Fogelgren of Virginia Beach, VA.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 17, 2018, at Colonial Grove Memorial Park. Arrangements are by Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Lynnhaven Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association. Condolences may be offered to the family at
