Obituary for Daniel Brennan McCulloch, III

Daniel Brennan McCulloch, III, died unexpectedly on July 11, 2018, at the age of 64 at his home in Norfolk, VA. He is survived by his daughter, Casey McCulloch and her mother, Marie McCulloch.

He is also survived by his mother, Emilia Donatelli, his siblings: Mary McCulloch Stetson, Luann Rhodes, Anthony McCulloch, Patti and Jeff Atkinson together with numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, Daniel B. McCulloch, II.

Raised in Norfolk, Danny began his passion for the water and fishing on the Lafayette River. He was a commercial fisherman for over 30 years and Captain of his fishing vessel, "Casey Marie." He donated prehistoric artifacts to the Virginia Aquarium dredged from the Chesapeake Bay. He is well-known to have caught a Great White Shark off the coast in nearby waters.

Danny became an outstanding musician and composer, inspiring and mentoring numerous generations of family and friends. Playing his guitar provided him peace, enjoyment, and solace at periods of physical challenges.

A Celebration of Danny's life will be held on Sunday, July 15, 2018, from 12-3pm at Ocean View Fishing Pier Restaurant. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel assisting the family. Condolences may be offered to the family at
