Obituary for John W. Carney

John W. Carney, 80, of Virginia Beach, VA, passed away on July 11, 2018. He was born in Philadelphia, PA to the late John & Mary Carney.

John proudly served in the United States Air Force Honor Guard. He retired as the Sales Director at Jobson Publications. He was an active parishioner of Church of the Holy Family, a member of the choir and the Knights of Columbus. John was a volunteer at Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital and the Virginia Beach Police Department.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 57 years, Kathleen Carney; his 3 daughters, Kathleen Martin, Bridget Sclafani & Megan Grills; 3 sons, Patrick Carney, John Carney & Brendan Carney; 12 grandchildren; along with extended family members and friends.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at Church of the Holy Family on Saturday, July, 14, 2018, at 11 a.m. A final committal service will be held at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
