Obituary for Ruby Warren Courtney

Ruby “Nanny” Warren Courtney, 94, of Norfolk, VA, passed away on July 6, 2018.

Born in Martin County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Eva Baker. Ruby retired after 26 years from F. W. Woolworth and was a member of Faith Temple Church. She was a wonderful wife and mother.

Ruby was preceded in death by her first husband, Charlie Warren; second husband, James Courtney; and three sons, Larry, Charles, and John Warren. Left to cherish her memory: a daughter, Dianna Stelts (Richard); two sons, Samuel Warren (Bonnie) and Joseph Warren (Sandra); daughter-in-law, Jeannie Warren; ten grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel on Thursday, July 12, from 12 to 1 p.m. The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.hollomon-brown.com.
