Dorothy “Dot” Currie Lawrence, 87, went home to meet her Lord on March 1, 2018.

She was born in Scotland County, North Carolina on April 14, 1930, to the late Edgar Dudley Currie and Annie Eliza Gibson Currie. She was a member of Deep Creek Baptist Church and the Esther Bible Class.

Dot always enjoyed gardening, reading and shopping. Her greatest joy was her family. She was lovingly known as “Granny” to many.

She was preceded in death by her sisters, Mary Waters, Jenell Joyce, and Valena Wester, and two brothers, Harold Currie and Aubrey Currie.

Dot is survived by her daughter, Lorraine Davis (John) and sons, David Lawrence and Ronald Lawrence; her grandchildren, Kyle, Jessica, Ryan, Corey, Linsay, and Johnny; and great grandchildren, Aubrey, Cody, Finn, Trent, Skylar, Brooke, Reagan, and baby Luke arriving in June.

The family would like any memorial donations be made to the Gideons International.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 4, 2018, at Deep Creek Baptist Church. Arrangements are by Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Bridge Chapel. Condolences may be offered to the family at
