Obituary for Douglas Duane Clark

Douglas Duane Clark passed away at his home on October 4, 2018, in Virginia Beach, Virginia at the age of 76.

Douglas is survived by his wife, Dawn Clark; daughter and son-in law, Sheri and Jon Norfolk of Parker, Colorado; and his daughter and son-in-law, Kristin and Jonathan Reifsnider of Virginia Beach, Virginia. He’s also survived by his grandchildren, Austin Reifsnider, Hailey Reifsnider and Thomas Norfolk.

Douglas was born on September 12, 1942, in Coldwater, Michigan to Marlen and Mildred Clark. He graduated from Muskegon Heights High School in 1960 and from St. Leo University in 1984 with a degree in Criminal Justice. Douglas served in the United States Navy for 21 years, reaching the rank of First-Class Petty Officer prior to his retirement. After settling in Virginia after retirement, Douglas began a career at the Virginia Department of Transportation. He worked for VDOT for 22 years, and served as Assistant Superintendent of Operations at the Monitor Merrimac Memorial Bridge Tunnel prior to retirement from state service.

A memorial service is scheduled for 4 p.m. on Wednesday, October 10, 2018, at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel, with a reception to follow. Pastor Ira Towns will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Douglas’s life. Flowers may be delivered to the funeral home and condolences may be sent to the family at www.hollomon-brown.com.
