Obituary for Clyde "Ducky" Davis

Clyde “Ducky” Davis, of Norfolk, VA, died peacefully Sunday, Dec. 2, 2018.

He was predeceased by parents, Clyde and Thelma Davis. He is survived by his wife, Frances “Frankie” Davis; son, Barry Davis and wife, Lori; granddaughter, Rebecca; a sister, Clydia Collins and husband, Donald.

Ducky was very active in baseball and softball in the Tidewater area, umpiring for over 41 years. He was elected to the Tidewater Virginia Amateur Softball Association Hall of Fame, the Eastern Virginia Officials Halls of Fame, and was the recipient of the Bud Metheny Award presented by Old Dominion University. He had scouted for several major league baseball teams and was currently an associate scout for the Los Angeles Dodgers.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, Dec. 8, 2018, at Cornerstone Baptist Church at 11 a.m. with visitation 1 hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to CHKD, Norfolk, Virginia. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel assisting the family.
